I’ve always had a soft spot for puppies. There’s just something about their clumsy first crawls, innocent-looking faces, and ultimate childish sassiness.
That’s why my heart always breaks whenever I see one suffering.
Recently, a woman fell apart when she discovered a teeny-tiny furball on the side of the road. He lay motionless on the ground, completely starved, with his mom nowhere to be found.
Although shocked by the harrowing sight, the woman immediately decided to take action.
She Thought He Was Already Gone
During the first few moments, the kind-hearted woman wasn’t sure if the pup was still alive. He looked as if he had already crossed the rainbow bridge, as he didn’t make any movements at all.
Then, she saw it!
Although weak, the pup was still breathing. There was still hope that she could save him, and she didn’t waste any more time.
She immediately scooped up the pup and took him home.
Curled up in a cozy blanket and feeling the gentle touch of another being for the first time ever, the pup began to show signs of life.
What had seemed like a hopeless cause just a few minutes earlier was now a miraculous new beginning.
He moved slowly but steadily, searching for his mom’s milk to eat and regain his strength.
The woman fed him around the clock with formula, carefully tracking the pup’s weight. Over the next few days, she didn’t leave his side – and it showed. He had already made so much progress!
Look, He Crawls!
Seeing the pup crawl for the first time was a rewarding experience, and the woman couldn’t have been happier when she saw her little rescue stand on his paws.
He took the first steps in his new home, and right then, she realized he was gonna be one feisty dog!
His curiosity about literally everything was just hauntingly cute. The pup explored the entire home, regained his energy, and even began to play.
When he was finally old enough to be treated for worms, the woman took him for his first checkup.
After receiving the much-needed treatment, it was time for him to learn about socialization. And, what better way to do that than with another pet?
His new mama’s cat was eager to meet its new brother. The two spent hours getting to know each other through playtime, cuddles, and the sweetest, sassiest chases around the house.
